THE WOMAN YOU MOST ADMIRE AND RESPECT

Imagine the female professional you most admire and respect.

If it's not you, what does she do and have that you do not? Notice how she treats people, her behavior - even her mannerisms and tone of voice.

When she walks into a room, how do you feel?

Let me guess.

  • You feel at ease, worthy and inspired. You trust her.
  • She is put together, professional and completely comfortable.
  • Polite, warm, courteous while commanding respect and attention without asking for it, she is kind and respectful to everyone.
  • You instinctively know how and when to approach her.
  • She has a life outside of work yet brings no personal details or tragic tales to the workplace.
  • She only speaks of others – at work and at home – with respect. You won’t experience her gossiping or belittling anyone.
  • She exudes confidence.
  • She is calm and present - never harried.

How does she maintain this demeanor, day after day?

This woman has boundaries.

I invite you to explore your boundaries around SELF-CARE | TIME | SCHEDULE | DECISIONS.

You're normal if you sometimes loosen your boundaries. Perfection does not exist:

Commit to daily and consistent self-care. Decide that your self-care is non-negotiable and organize your time around what is best for your physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual health. Move about your day with less effort in every area while enjoying those feeling-good and mood-stabilizing hormones.

Be admired for your self-discipline and commitment to your health. Gain more respect from your superiors and colleagues. Collaborate more. Better articulate complex challenges. Be level-headed and comfortable in high-stress situations. Have more clarity and have confidence in your decision-making. (WOW, SIGN ME UP!)

Have confidence that all things personal and professional are being managed, handled and done well. Stay current, organized and on top of things. Spread positive vibes and joy throughout your family and circle of friends. Be available for yourself and then others. Optimal health brings clarity and a sense of having the time to handle priorities in your life.

Of course, we admire and respect women around whom we feel seen, heard, comfortable, inspired, appreciated and respected.

You should know: This is a very tall order. Not even this woman you most admire and respect is perfect. No professional and intentionally successful woman (who is overwhelmed and really wants a personal life) is gliding through life without a care in the world.

She works daily at maintaining her boundaries so she can balance life and work. So do I.

It's okay to enlist help in one, a few or all areas of your life. Recruiting a team to buoy you is self-care. Here's TEAM LAURA:

  • Stephanie, personal trainer (and a great group of female workout pals).
  • Bev, life coach.
  • Grace and Patsy, business and mindset coach consultants.
  • Yvette, bookkeeper who is more than a bookkeeper.
  • Jane, invaluable virtual assistant.
  • Close friends who know me (and my former secrets) and who support me in getting back on track when I allow self-care to slide or say yes when I really wanted to say no.
  • A love who supports me in my goals and dreams and makes me laugh.
  • My family - we gather often, play domino and board games, listen to music and crack ourselves up.

If, for some reason, you notice yourself being a lone ranger and doing it all without anyone - I urge you to consider recruiting help. You may not build as big of a team as I have, yet I can promise you - without even knowing you - that you absolutely deserve help, support and love. I will dare say that you need it. This is self-care and where you'll be able to set and keep boundaries for yourself.

The return on investing in TEAM YOU is life-work balance - which leads to professional and personal success.

You'll have remarkably improved health, stronger relationships, more harmony at home, self-confidence and self-respect.

Busy professional women invest heavily on their careers. It is high time you invest in yourself so you can balance life and work without sacrificing your success.

If you'd like help restoring significant areas in your life that haven't gotten enough attention lately, please feel free to book a call.
