A COLLECTION OF CORE DESIRES FROM WORKING WOMEN

Having helped hundreds of working women, I put together a list of the most common core desires they've shared with me - what they wish were different...what they really want.

A Collection of Working Women's Core Desires

  • To be overall successful in my life - career, health, family, finances.
  • To juggle my personal life and work.
  • To "do it all" with grace and dignity.
  • I want to enjoy more, laugh and play more. Stop being so serious all the time.
  • The secret. The manual. What other women seem to have that I didn't get.
  • If I didn't have to be perfect, it would change my life.
  • To be more available for my kids.
  • To stay on the beam.
  • More hours in the day.
  • A "mini me".
  • Enough staff. More resources. More time. A clone.
  • A raise. A promotion.
  • Recognition.
  • Heal resentments and generally be content with my life.
  • To take care of me instead of everyone else.
  • I want to stop sabotaging myself. Get out of my own way.
  • Stop being reactive.
  • To be seen and heard - and respected.
  • Quit overengineering things and being so perfectionistic.
  • To be caught up, on top of things and in control.
  • Stop second-guessing myself.
  • To stick to a routine so I can exercise and eat right.
  • More flexibility so I can be a career woman and take care of my family and house - and it'd be so much less stressful if I could also make it to my kids' sporting events. (I'm tired of feeling guilty when I miss their games.)
  • Wake up without anxiety. Not dread my day ahead.
  • Tap into my creativity again.
  • Change careers.
  • Become a consultant or coach.
  • Ease this constant feeling of being overwhelmed.
  • I want to want to go home after work.
  • To not be lonely. I want to share life with someone special.
  • Reinvent myself! Live my second half of life MY way. Be happy.
  • Stop being so stressed out all the time.
  • Keep my boundaries (and stop being afriad to let others down).
  • Say no when I mean NO.
  • Stop people-pleasing - but only if they won't be mad at me...
  • Feel, be and look healthy. But honestly - I want to be thin and pretty.
  • Quiet the mean things I tell myself. Those old tapes are what drive me to work too hard.
  • Get into recovery (and stop my addictive and numbing/avoidant behaviors).
  • Stop neglecting myself for the sake of work and all others.
  • Get caught up. Finish my to-do list. STOP procrastinating.
  • To have self-discipline.
  • To be in acceptance of having to take time to take care of myself so other things will work in my life.
  • To risk being vulnerable and let love in, which is hard because I work so much.

It's possible to have everything on this list.

What would YOU add to this list of core desires so many professional women have shared with me over the years?

If any of these resonate with you and you're ready to make a change, create something different in your life, set boundaries, feel more like yourself again, start saying no when you want to or be more available as a mom - feel free to grab time on my calendar.

I help professional women make the vital shift from work-life to life-work balance so they can be more successful - professionally and personally. They are stronger leaders, better parents, more available mates, healthier humans, more financially successful - and living the way they want to.

Be the woman you most respect and admire.
